In 1999 we bought a house in Sundown Glen in Katy Texas.
Just recently we discovered some of our siding was falling apart, we contacted Pulte Homes the builder of the house and they came out to look at it and in turn they informed us that they will piece it back together and try to get the colors of the siding to match.
Well we read all about Hardi Plank Siding and should have a warranty of 50 years on the siding.
Once you take ownership of your home in your contract states that Pulte will hand over any and all Warranty that apply to anything in the house.
That would include that Hardi Siding. We contacted James Hardi and sent pictures of our siding on the house and come to find out that the Supplier and Vendor did not install the siding correctly therefore voiding the warranty.
A response from Pulte is that our house is hitting ten years old and that is too expected. No your product should last longer than ten years and if you messed it up by having installers install siding that were not certified to install the product you should take responsible for that product.
We have sent numerous letters to Pulte and to their attorney's and to the Vendor that installed the siding and all of them are NOT claiming responsibility.
We are getting together photos of our house and the rest of our neighborhood, this is a terribly in-justice
We just found out that the guy that did our siding is advertising in our neighborhood newsletter under his company’s legal name. And when he worked for Pulte he used his name not his company’s. No telling how many other Homes builder’s he has worked for that his employee’s did not know that - if they improperly install items that they (the company) has voided the warranty of all of the products.
How many people have replaced siding that this man has installed and in-turn called his company to redo his work.
This Gentleman is registered with the TRCC as a preferred vendor along with the IKE recovery. He is robbing the state of money that could be used for a vendor that is trust worthy. This is what the State of Texas recommends - what kind of people are running our offices?
We need to ban together as homeowners and stamp out this injustice that we have come across, has included all of the TRCC’s, TRCLA’s and foremost Binding Arbitration. Those are the things that are making it easier to walk away from you home when they are fighting you. You have to pay $’s to the Arbitration and HOPE like all heck that they going to lean in our favor if not it all falls on you. We in turn have to pay for everything, legal fees of both parties and court cost.
